Group project #1: Collaborations with Digi60 Film Festival, Fall 2011.

Needed: Someone to take on coordination role so that we can participate! The direction we want to take this could mean you see your work screened at the Digi60 Festival if your work is chosen for production, but we need to work out the details, and that’s where you come in! We also want to help teams bring the best possible stories to the screen by providing script feedback, and there is also an opportunity for someone with short film writing and directing experience to facilitate a workshop. Just need someone with a genius mind to take it on and make it happen.

Group project #2: Script writing events like NYC Midnight. More information to come.

3.) Recap of Hot Summer Schmooze – what can we add? Who can we get the word out to?

4.) Document Review:

1. Brief update by Jennifer about panels and discussions.
2. Discussion about NSI and CFC Programs for Television.

Ottawa Film Community Event- Les Soirées Schmooze

• A joint venture between The Writers Room (Ottawa) and Ink Drinks (Ottawa)
• An early week event sometime in June.  Dates to be selected and can’t conflict with sports schedule.
• Promotion primarily through online or direct to various groups – Ottawa Film Website, Ottawa International Film Festival, Ottawa School of Speech/Drama, Algonquin College, IFCO, SAW, game developers, production houses.  Other groups and by word of mouth.
• Possible locations – somewhere relatively private; patio; central; big enough to hold up to say 50 people comfortably.  Group to provide suggestions and contacts if possible.

Admin:

1. New general email for the group – thewritersroomottawa@gmail.com.  This will be the central email for all requests for the script repository.
